Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups fresh blackberries

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 cups lemon juice, from about 6 lemons

  • 2 cups whiskey

  • 4 cups club soda

  • ice, for serving

Garnish:

  • 1 cup blackberries

  • 1 lemon, sliced

Method

  1. In a medium pot, combine the blackberries, sugar and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the berries break down. Remove from the heat.

  1. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the pulp and seeds. Set aside to cool.

  1. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice, blackberry simple syrup, and whiskey. Chill until ready to serve.

  1. Before serving, add the club soda and stir to combine.

  1. Serve over ice, garnished with a few blackberries and a slice of lemon.
